The advantages of Thermoprotect™
Every year in the UK, sub-zero temperatures cause pipes to freeze and burst causing costly damage.
Winter weather in the UK is getting increasingly worse and as temperatures plummet, pipes burst, boilers fail and gutters collapse.
The UK spends in excess of £64M a year on boiler call out charges and in 2009, frozen and burst pipes caused over £130M of damage to homes and commercial property.
The average UK temperature in December 2010 was -1C. This was the first time an average monthly temperature had been below zero for over 100 years, and winter 2013 is predicted to bring another “Big Freeze”.
Thermoprotect maintains the temperature above zero, stops pipes freezing and keeps water flowing.

How it works
The built in thermostat monitors temperature of the pipes and the Fixed Output cable switches on automatically at 5oC and off at 15oC.
Self Regulating cable provides heat where it is needed most and conserves energy by reacting to changes in temperature along the entire length of the cable. Great for plastic pipes and pipes that pass through walls. Thermoprotect provides full protection from freezing and the subsequent boiler breakdowns and damage caused by burst pipes.
Plastic Pipes
We recommend the use of the Thermoprotect EZ Self Regulating cable on plastic pipes. You should also use aluminium foil to improve heat transfer and ensure an even distribution of heat. Fixed output cables are not suitable for use with plastic pipes.
Boiler condensate pipes
Most boiler installations leave the condensate pipe un-insulated. In cold weather this pipe can freeze and stop the flow of water causing the boiler to break down and often needs an engineer to put right and check properly. Thermoprotect prevents expensive boiler call out charges.
Gutters and down pipes
Ice and snow collects on roofs and in guttering during cold weather. This excess weight can cause gutters to collapse and large sections of ice can fall causing damage to property and personal injury. Thermoprotect ensures property is safe in cold weather.
External water pipes and taps
External water pipes and taps are vulnerable, even when insulated. Thermoprotect is designed to be fitted under a layer of insulation to provide complete protection to exposed pipes.
Stables and out houses
Critical water supply pipes to stables, allotments and out houses should be adequately protected and fully insulated to prevent freezing and bursting.
Lofts and warehouses
These areas are usually poorly insulated and not heated. A burst pipe here can cause serious damage that often goes un-noticed until its too late.
Industrial trace heating
Thermoprotect can also be used in industrial applictions such as large water tanks, sprinkler systems, agricultural water systems, gardens, green house water systems, potted plants and commercial buildings.
